Types Of Horror
There are different ways of making an opening title sequence (OTS). We have looked in to the different types of horror ones. The types we have looked in to are:
1) Symbolic
This means that the whole sequence can be interpreted into different meanings. A film that uses this examples is 'Dexter'.
2) Nonlinear timeline
This means that the OTS contains some flashbacks or flash-forwards. It is not something that is happening at the present. Some films that use this method is 'Seven' and 'Nightmare On Elm Street'.
3) Linear narrative
This means that the OTS has an actual story line. Some films hat follow this example are 'The Awakening' and 'Devil Inside'.
4) Saw editing
This is made from the 'Saw' films, since they have their own distinct OTS. All of the 'Saw's use this distinct method.
